How We’re Making a Difference
At SFH, every action is rooted in care and purpose. Driven by a vision to optimize access and equitable primary healthcare for Rwandans and beyond. SFH interventions utilizes evidence-based approaches, innovative tech-enabled solutions, and partnerships to transform healthcare delivery and impact.
What We Do
Expanding Access to Primary Healthcare
Healthcare should be easily accessed by everyone, no matter where they live. That’s why we are bringing it closer to each home, we are doing different things like :
- Constructing, managing, and equipping health posts to provide comprehensive healthcare at the community level.
- Strengthening the public-private partnership (PPP) model for sustainable health post functionality.
- Training healthcare workers to deliver high-quality primary healthcare services.
- Enhancing demand-generation interventions to increase the utilization of health post services.


Maternal, Neonatal, Adolescent & Child Health (MNACH)
We all deserve a healthy future, be it a mother, an adolescent, or even a new born baby. We are determined to make it a reality through measures including:
- Strengthening health facilities to reduce maternal and child mortality.
- Scaling up vaccination programs with solar-powered fridges and CHW-led outreach.
- Supporting accreditation of HIV testing services at health posts, ensuring prevention of mother-to-child transmission.
- Empowering youth through adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) initiatives in schools and communities.
Malaria Prevention, Research & Treatment
Malaria is preventable, yet it remains a major public health challenge. At SFH, we are set to prevent and treat Malaria through:
- Conducting malaria research and supporting community-based prevention programs.
- Expanding access to long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) and mosquito repellents.
- Engaging communities through social behavior change (SBC) campaigns to increase prevention behavior.
- Strengthening health posts to provide sustainable malaria diagnosis & treatment services.


End-to-End Cervical & Breast Cancer Care
It is widely known that early detection saves live and they are numerous ways for one to spot those small symptoms and if tendered to at an early stage, they are likely to turn into nothingness, that’s why we do our best by:
- Raising awareness and promoting early detection of cervical and breast cancer.
- Supporting screening, prevention, and treatment services at health facilities.
- Partnering with national and global health organizations to scale cancer programs.
HIV Awareness, Prevention & Treatment
Ending HIV starts with awareness, and to prevent it we committed to do everything in our power to save more lives, they include:
- Social marketing of HIV prevention products (condoms, self-test kits, PrEP).
- Conducting community-led research on HIV prevalence and risk factors.
- Strengthening the integration of HIV testing and treatment into primary healthcare.


Social Marketing of Health Products
Access to quality healthcare is a right to each one of us, and we made sure of this by:
- Increasing the availability of affordable, high-quality healthcare products for WASH, FP, HIV, and Malaria.
- Using evidence-based research to optimize accessibility, acceptability, and affordability of health commodities.
- Enhancing last-mile distribution in hardest-to-reach areas.
Digitalizing Decentralized Primary Healthcare
The world is moving digital and technology is a tool we are using to improve efficiency, we do this in numerous ways like;
- Deploying Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at health posts for improved patient tracking.
- Leveraging real-time data analytics for informed decision-making in rural healthcare.
- Introducing the Digital Health Officer role to support local job development.
- Establishing a Health Intelligence Center to shift healthcare systems from reactive to predictive and preventive models.


Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Prevention & Management
While Chronic diseases are on a rise but we are not asleep, Instead we are helping communities take care of their health in order to manage and control these diseases through different ways such as;
- Expanding community-based screening & management for diabetes, hypertension, and other NCDs.
- Promoting healthy lifestyle adoption through behavior change campaigns and SBC programs.

P&G Purifier of Water is a powdered water purification technology that comes in a small packet and can purify 10 liters of contaminated water. It works by removing dirt and contaminants from the water, making it safe to drink.
